Oklahoma Guaranteed Student Loan Program (OGSLP)

OKMM is OGSLP's financial education program.  A division of the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, OGSLP serves as the primary guarantor of federal student loans for Oklahoma students and post-secondary institutions. OGSLP provides Oklahomans the resources needed to reach their education and career goals, offering information about the student loan process and scholarship opportunities.

Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education (OSRHE)


The State Regents are the coordinating board for Oklahoma public higher education. Among other responsibilities, the State Regents set academic standards, determine functions and courses of study at state colleges and universities, and grant degrees. The State Regents also manage 25 scholarship and special programs, and, in cooperation with the Office of State Finance, operate OneNet, the state's information and telecommunications network for education and government.

Mapping Your Future (MYF)


Mapping Your Future, a national public service project of the financial aid industry, provides free college, career, financial aid, and financial literacy services for students, families and schools.  The MYF Web site features a variety of interactive programs, financial fitness tools, in-depth information about the student loan process, and many other useful resources for students, parents, counselors and administrators.

Oklahoma Student Portal

OKcollegestart.org is Oklahoma’s official Web site for providing comprehensive higher education information to students, parents and counselors. Developed by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education and the Oklahoma Guaranteed Student Loan Program, the site offers college and career exploration resources, planning tools and payment information, as well as tips and timelines for the admission process. This site features comprehensive information about preparing academically and financially for postsecondary education and career success. Students and families can access a wide variety of Oklahoma programs and services and learn about completing the FAFSA, types of federal and state scholarships and grants, and which organizations and schools offer early awareness and intervention initiatives to support low-income and first-generation college students. This site was developed by the Oklahoma Guaranteed Student Loan Program in partnership with a network of guaranty agencies, the National Council of Higher Education Loan Programs (NCHELP) and Mapping Your Future (MYF).

Oklahoma Council on Economic Education (OCEE)

The OCEE is a nonprofit organization with a mission to promote economic and financial literacy, primarily through free workshops and materials for K-12 educators. OKMM has a curricular partnership with the OCEE for the AmeriCorps Education Award program.

Oklahoma Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy

The Oklahoma Jump$tart Coalition is a collaboration of organizations with a common goal of improving the quality of financial education statewide. Members hold numerous events each year, primarily during Financial Literacy Month in April.

Oklahoma Homebuyer Education Association (OHEA)

Through quality education and counseling, the Oklahoma Homebuyer Education Association works to ensure that more people will qualify for homeownership, experience a pleasant purchasing process, and succeed at owning and maintaining their homes. The OHEA Web site offers homebuyer educators, industry professionals and potential homebuyers resources for navigating the property purchasing process.

Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA)

With more than 6,000 members, the OSCPA is Oklahoma’s only statewide professional association of CPAs. OSCPA members can provide free training, guest speaker sessions, lesson plans, presentations and other educational materials. Visit OSCPA’s Web site for consumer resources, including tax tips, money management articles and free CPA consultations.

Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Central Oklahoma

Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Central Oklahoma is a nonprofit agency committed to helping individuals and families strengthen financial skills through counseling, debt management and education.

Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)

The Department of Housing and Urban Development is the nation's housing agency committed to increasing homeownership, particularly among minorities. HUD focuses on creating affordable housing opportunities for low-income Americans and supporting the homeless, elderly, people with disabilities and people living with AIDS.

InvestEd

A partnership of the Oklahoma Securities Commission and the OU College of Continuing Education, Invest Ed is a nonprofit investor education program that strives to increase investment knowledge and anti-fraud awareness through programs for Oklahomans of all ages. Invest Ed provides investing workshops and holds town hall meetings in financial topics across the state.

OKSEED - Oklahoma Kids' College Savings Campaign

The Campaign is an alliance of public, private and nonprofit organizations working to expand higher education opportunities through savings and develop public policies that support public and private matching for qualified participants in the Oklahoma 529 College Savings Program.

Oklahoma Department of Consumer Credit (OKDOCC)

The Department of Consumer Credit is the state agency that regulates consumer lending practices. The Commission's duties include increasing the understanding of credit transaction terms; protecting buyers, lessees and borrowers against unfair practices; permitting and encouraging the development of fair and economically sound consumer credit practices; and implementing the Uniform Consumer Credit Code statewide.

Oklahoma Bankers Association (OBA)

For more than 100 years, the OBA has provided the tools banks need to meet financial needs in local communities. OBA assists their 270 member banks with government relations, educational programs, legal and compliance issues, communications, insurance products and numerous other products and services.

Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS)

The CNCS is the nation’s largest grantor supporting service and volunteering to promote engaged citizenship and responsibility. Through Senior Corps, AmeriCorps and Learn and Serve America programs, the Corporation provides opportunities for Americans to express patriotism while meeting community needs.

Oklahoma Community Service Commission (OCSC)

The OCSC is a nonprofit state commission working to integrate, expand and sustain volunteer service initiatives across the state. In addition to funding and administering the state’s AmeriCorps programs, the commission matches volunteers with agencies and organizations that address critical needs in Oklahoma communities.

AmeriCorps

AmeriCorps is a network of local, state and national service programs that connect more than 70,000 Americans each year in intensive community service. Members serve with more than 2,000 nonprofit agencies and organizations, meeting our country’s educational, public safety, health and environmental needs.

National Endowment for Financial Education (NEFE)

NEFE is an independent, nonprofit foundation dedicated to helping all Americans achieve financial well-being. Through its partnerships, NEFE provides funding, logistical support and financial planning expertise to create personal finance programs and materials for the public.

Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy

The national Jump$tart Coalition seeks to improve the personal financial literacy of young adults through a variety of avenues, including developing, disseminating and encouraging the use of standards for grades K-12 and promoting the teaching of personal finance. The Web site offers a clearinghouse of resources searchable by grade level, key word, title, source and media type. The site also offers links to various financial literacy organizations and materials.

National Council on Economic Education (NCEE)

The NCEE is a nationwide network of affiliated state Councils and Centers that promote economic literacy for students and teachers. In addition, NCEE develops a variety of economic and personal finance curricula and materials for K-12 educators.

Center for Student Credit Card Education (CSCCE)

Founded in 2001, the Center for Student Credit Card Education is dedicated to improving the credit card literacy of America’s students. CSCCE offers a free publication, The ABCs of Credit Card Finance, which covers topics like budgeting, interest rates, healthy credit use and identity theft.

Oklahoma College Savings Plan (OCSP)

The Oklahoma College Savings Plan, our state’s 529 plan, offers participants several savings perks, including an Oklahoma income tax deduction on contributions and tax-free growth and withdrawals. The OCSP Web site features a comprehensive program overview, detailed investment options, a ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ section and online program enrollment.

Foundation for Financial Literacy

The Foundation for Financial Literacy strives to elevate the financial well-being of humanity by providing financial support to organizations that teach financial education, focusing specifically on the difference between earned, passive and portfolio income.

Financial Literacy 2010

Financial Literacy 2010 is a national campaign to increase the average high school student's personal finance and investment savvy. FL2010 provides high school teachers online teaching guides and other materials to educate students about making wise financial decisions.

Financial Literacy and Education Commission

The federal Commission created MyMoney.gov, a U.S. government Web site, to teach Americans the basics about financial education. The site offers useful information from 20 federal agencies in topics ranging from balancing a checkbook to purchasing a home to investing in a 401(k).

Consumer Jungle

Consumer Jungle is a Web-based program that helps high school students become financially savvy. The site includes online games for students, classroom materials for teachers and tools for parents to teach their kids about money.

Women’s Institute for Financial Education (WIFE)

The Women’s Institute for Financial Education is the oldest nonprofit organization dedicated to educating women in the quest for financial independence. WIFE is also a source for statistics, articles, and information about general and gender-specific financial issues.

Practical Money Skills for Life

Practical Money Skills for Life is a free Web site designed to help educators, parents and students practice better money management. Materials featured online include lesson plans, financial tools and games.

AARP Oklahoma

With over 35 million members, the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) is the leading nonprofit, nonpartisan membership organization for people age 50 and over in the United States. The AARP Web site offers information and resources addressing financial issues including identity theft, investment fraud, saving and retirement planning.

Smart About Money

Want to boost your money IQ? Visit the National Endowment for Financial Education’s (NEFE) new Web site, www.smartaboutmoney.org, for tips and resources about financial planning topics like credit and debt, saving, investing and retirement. This resource center offers courses, workshops, tools, multimedia and printed materials to improve financial decision-making.

Goodpayer.com

Goodpayer.com provides consumers with a variety of information to strengthen money management skills and pave the way to financial security. The site contains resources spanning many topics, along with calculators and other interactive tools to help adults budget, plan and save.

360 Degrees of Financial Literacy

360 Degrees of Financial Literacy, an effort of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), offers free tools and resources to help adults manage their finances through every stage of life. The Web site also links to the AICPA’s new national public service campaign, www.feedthepig.org, which encourages 25-to 34-year-olds to take control of their personal finances.

Federal Trade Commission (FTC)

The Federal Trade Commission’s Web site includes several publications and materials to educate consumers about issues ranging from credit to investments to privacy, among others. In addition, the FTC launched a new campaign called Deter, Detect and Defend, which offers various instructional resources to prevent identity theft.

Federal Reserve Bank

This site contains links to instructional materials and tools that enhance understanding of the Federal Reserve Banking System, as well as general economics and personal finance. All resources on the Federal Reserve Web site, including curricula, newsletters, booklets and other items, are available free of charge.

Financial Planning Association (FPA)

Want to know how a financial planner can assist you in meeting your financial goals or need help selecting one? Visit the FPA Web site for information about locating, contacting and working with a financial planner in your area.

Making $ense of $aving

Developed by the Oklahoma Council on Economic Education, this Web site contains numerous resources for parents, grandparents and educators to teach children about various aspects of saving. Links to materials, lesson plans, other Web sites and books are available on this one-stop-shop for savings resources.

Junior Achievement

Junior Achievement (JA) is a worldwide organization that uses hands-on experience to help youth understand economics, financial literacy, entrepreneurship and citizenship. JA relies on community and business volunteers to bring their programs to elementary, middle and high school classrooms.
