Budgeting Just Got Easier with OKMM's New Online Tool

Freshman Orientation Wordle

In celebration of Jump$tart Your Money (JYM) Week, an annual statewide promotion of financial education, Oklahoma Money Matters released a new interactive budgeting tool.

This free online tool was developed to help students and adults easily create or hone their monthly budget, which is the cornerstone of financial success.

The tool contains 10 main spending categories, with numerous sub categories under each. Sub categories can easily be renamed, deleted or added, allowing complete customization for the user.

As the user enters projected expenses, the tool subtracts the expense total from the monthly income total, which allows the user to quickly see if edits need to be made to the spending plan. When the budget is finalized, users can export their personalized budget to an Excel file and save it to their computer for future reference.

If you have questions about how you can integrate this tool into the work you currently do, please contact Melissa Neal at mneal@ocap.org or 405.234.4253.

Don't forget to check out our lineup of lesson plans and our self-paced learning modules for more resources developed to help you teach those you serve about managing their personal finances.
